Moscow Winter Carrot – a mid-season variety with consistently high yields. The growing season, from germination to root maturity, is 88–108 days. The root is elongated-conical in shape with a blunt end, weighing 80–130 g and 16 cm long, with an orange-red color. High carotene content. A variety with high yield and good storage life. Value of the variety: resistance to bolting, high storage life. Recommended for fresh consumption and winter storage.
For early harvest, seeds are sown in open ground in early spring, in April. For root crops intended for storage, seeds are sown in late May or June. It is also possible to sow before winter, in November–December, in frozen soil, using dry seeds. Sow in furrows 5 cm wide and 2–2.5 cm deep. Space the furrows 20 cm apart. Thin the plants when 1–2 true leaves appear; moderate and regular watering is required. Harvest the root crops in late September.
