Rio Grande Tomato - a mid-season, determinate, high-yielding variety with a growing season from germination to fruit ripening of 120-130 days. The plant is robust, 70-100 cm tall, with a long fruiting period. The fruits are uniform, plum-shaped and oval, red, fleshy, very firm, weighing 70–150 g. Good fruit set and uniform ripening are observed even under drought conditions. It is typically grown in open fields and from seedlings. It has high disease resistance; the plants are hardy and tolerate high temperatures well. Good transportability. Characterized by a high dry matter content. The variety is intended for canning, pickling, and tomato paste production.
