Full description
Switch 62.5 WG, water-soluble granules, active ingredients: cyprodinil - 375 g/kg, fludioxonil - 250 g/kg. Fungicide for protection against gray mold and fruit rot during storage. Manufacturer: Syngenta, Switzerland.
Fungicide for disease control and improving fruit shelf life. The product has a potent effect on the pathogen, reliably protecting the plant. Switch has contact-penetrating and preventive-eradicating action, therefore it protects the plant at four stages of the pathogen’s development: during conidial germination, at the onset of pathogen mycelium growth, upon pathogen penetration into the cell, and by halting mycelium growth within the cell. It is also highly effective against various types of grape rot.
Product benefits:
- improves fruit shelf life during storage,
- a two-component contact-penetrating fungicide,
- highly effective in controlling rot in fruits and berries,
- controls the main pathogens that cause fruit and berry rot during storage (fruit rot, gray mold, and certain other diseases)
Application method:
The product can be applied using tractor or backpack sprayers. When using a tractor sprayer, the application rate is
Mode of action:
Cyprodinil is a unique systemic active ingredient. It inhibits amino acid biosynthesis and disrupts the life cycle of fungi, primarily at the moment of penetration and growth of the mycelium in plant tissues. Fludioxonil is a contact active ingredient with a broad spectrum of controlled pathogens and long-lasting activity. Fludioxonil inhibits the germination of conidia and the growth of the pathogen’s mycelium (Botrytis cinerea). Switch® 62.5 WG is a wettable granule formulation that combines two highly effective active ingredients with optimal activity levels.
The product exerts an active effect on the pathogen, reliably protecting the plant. Switch has contact-penetrating and preventive-eradicating effects, thus protecting the plant at four stages of the pathogen’s development: during conidial germination, at the onset of pathogen mycelium growth, upon pathogen penetration into the cell, and by halting mycelium growth within the cell.
Duration of protective action
The curative effect lasts 2 days, and the protective effect lasts 10–12 days.
Phytotoxicity and safety
Safe for bees, beneficial insects, and the environment. Low toxicity, safe for humans (LD50 > 3000 mg/kg, non-phytotoxic to plants).
Spectrum of activity:
Switch® 62.5 WG, w.g. demonstrates high efficacy against pathogens from the Ascomycetes and Deuteromycetes classes.
Crop tolerance:
When used according to recommendations, Switch® 62.5 WG, w.g. is NOT phytotoxic to crops.
Rain wash-off:
Do not spray less than two hours before rain.
Use in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Systems:
Switch® 62.5 WG, w.g. has exceptionally high biological activity. Its applicability at various stages of the growing season makes it ideal for use with disease monitoring and forecasting systems. At the recommended application rates, Switch® 62.5 WG, w.g., does not affect soil organisms or pollinators and is virtually harmless to beneficial entomofauna and acarifauna. Therefore, Switch® 62.5 WG, w.g., is suitable for use in IPM. To prevent widespread infection, treatment should be carried out as a preventive measure. Use for curative purposes cannot be generally recommended.
Compatibility:
Generally, good compatibility with other fungicides is observed. No cases of incompatibility are known. If in doubt, conduct a compatibility test before use.
Preparation of the working solution:
Ensure that the spraying equipment is clean and free of contamination. Carefully calculate the required volume of the working solution so that no residue remains in the sprayer tank after treatment. Fill the sprayer tank with clean water to 1/3 of its volume, begin agitation, add the calculated amount of the product, and top up with water while continuing to agitate. To maintain the homogeneity of the suspension, do not stop stirring until the treatment is complete. If Switch® 62.5 WG, w.g. is mixed in the sprayer tank with other products, first pour Switch® 62.5 WG, w.g. into the water-filled sprayer tank, and then add the other products. If these products are packaged in water-soluble sachets, first immerse these sachets in water, and then add Switch® 62.5 WG, w.g.
Dissolve the contents of the sachet in 1 L of water to prepare the working solution. The first spraying is at the beginning of flowering, the second after mass flowering.
