It is grown by sowing seeds for seedlings in February–March; seedlings are transplanted to open ground in April–May at the 5–6 leaf stage, after the threat of night frosts has passed. Harvest when a light yellow border appears on the leaves. Natural drying is used. The tobacco is fermented before use. This variety has a sweet-and-sour taste with a pronounced cedar aroma. Sugar content is above average. It is used in blends for smoking pipes and cigarettes.
