It is the queen of forage crops; it is grown specifically to produce feed with a high protein content—up to 20%. Alfalfa is also grown for land reclamation. It is characterized by high yields of green and dry matter. It is resistant to leaf wilt and clover rust. It ensures easy harvesting.

- Planting site: suitable for loose soils with high lime content.
- Sowing frequency: the plant is winter-hardy and perennial (used for 3 years). It is recommended to leave the crops untouched for a short period once during the growing season to allow sufficient reserve substances to accumulate in the root system.
