Ukrainian Bitter Pepper. Mid-season variety. Semi-standard bush, slightly spreading, low-growing—up to 25–30 cm. Fruits are long, conical, smooth, red, with thin flesh and a spicy flavor. Fruit color is dark green at technical maturity and red at biological maturity. Yield is average. This is a mid-season variety: it takes 112–118 days from germination to technical ripeness and 136–141 days to biological ripeness. The “Ukrainian Bitter” variety was improved by the Ukrainian Research Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing through individual selection from local varieties.
