  • Versatile use — excellent both fresh and in a jar

Growing characteristics

Stage Recommendations
Sowing for seedlings Late April – early May. Sow in individual cups or peat pots to a depth of 1.5–2 cm. Germination temperature: +25...+28°C
Transplanting seedlings At 25–30 days old, once the risk of frost has passed. Planting pattern: 50 × 30 cm (4–5 plants per m²). In a greenhouse, you can increase the density to 3–4 plants per m²
Direct seeding into the soil When the soil warms to +15°C (second half of May). Sow to a depth of 2–3 cm. May be covered with plastic sheeting in the early stages
Soil Light, fertile, well-drained soils with a neutral reaction (pH 6-7). Previous crops: green manure, tomatoes, cabbage, onions. Avoid planting after cucurbit crops
Watering Regular, with warm water (+22...+25°C). Before flowering—moderate; during fruiting—abundant (daily or every other day). Do not allow the soil to dry out
Fertilization Every 10–14 days with complex fertilizers or organic matter. Increase potassium and nitrogen doses during fruiting. Foliar feeding with micronutrients + boron
Training In a greenhouse, train to a single stem, removing side shoots at the lower 4–5 nodes. In open ground, pinch back above the 5th or 6th leaf to encourage better branching
Harvesting Regularly, every 1–2 days. Do not allow the plants to overgrow—this stimulates the formation of new buds. Harvest in the morning after the dew has dried

Culinary Uses

  • Fresh salads: crisp, juicy, and without bitterness—perfect for summer salads and appetizers
  • Whole-canning: their small size allows them to be canned whole in 0.5–1 L jars
  • Pickling: the thin skin absorbs salt well, retaining its crispness
  • Lightly salted cucumbers: ready in 6–8 hours in brine — the perfect summer appetizer

Prevention of diseases and pests

  • Follow crop rotation — do not plant cucumbers after cucumbers
  • Remove old leaves and plant debris in a timely manner
  • Treat with biofungicides at the first signs of powdery mildew
  • Use soapy water or biological products against aphids and spider mites
  • Mulch the soil to retain moisture and prevent diseases
  • Ensure good ventilation in the greenhouse

💡 The secret to success: The Small and Nimble F1 cucumber loves warmth and moisture, but cannot tolerate waterlogging of the root system. Water frequently but moderately—don’t overwater! Also, harvest the fruits regularly, even if you don’t have time to process them. The more often you pick the cucumbers, the faster new buds will form. You can give them to your neighbors—they’ll be happy!
