F1 Mahagon — an early-maturing, parthenocarpic, cluster-type gherkin hybrid of the Balcony variety type, with female or predominantly female flowering. Intended for growing on balconies, loggias, verandas, in open ground, and in spring greenhouses.
Characteristics:
- The main vine is long, with weak branching. Internodes are short.
- There are many side shoots, but they are short and of the determinate type.
- Leaves are small, with slight wrinkling. Fruits are short, bumpy, white-spined, spindle-shaped, 7–11 cm long, 2.6–3.5 cm in diameter, and weigh 60–110 g.
- Short, light-colored longitudinal stripes are characteristic on the surface of the fruits.
- The frequency of tubercles is average, and the tubercles are of medium size. Between 2 and 7–11 ovaries form at the nodes of the stem and lateral shoots.
- High taste and pickling qualities.
Features: The hybrid is resistant to olive spot, common cucumber mosaic virus, and powdery mildew, and is tolerant to downy mildew.
Planting density: in greenhouses - 2.5-3 plants/m²; in open ground - 4-5 plants/m².
