Tango Leek - a mid-season, high-yielding variety intended for fall harvest. The period from planting seedlings to harvest is 115-125 days. The leaves are upright, dark blue-green in color. The "stem" is up to 12 cm long and up to 5 cm in diameter. The flavor is semi-sharp. The weight of a single plant is 200–250 g. Frost-hardy. Recommended for fresh consumption and long-term winter storage. The variety’s value lies in its resistance to cold snaps down to –10°C. High vitamin content; vitamin C accumulates during winter storage.
Sowing: grown from seedlings. Seedlings 50–60 days old are planted in open ground to a depth of 3–4 cm in the second half of May. When planting, the distance between plants is 15–20 cm, and between rows is 25–30 cm. Grows well in loamy, humus-rich floodplain soils with a neutral pH.
Care and Harvest: To develop a fleshy stem fruit, repeated hilling is required during the growing season, as well as fertilization with nitrogen-potassium fertilizers. Store in cool, moist conditions during winter. Harvest for winter storage should be done in late October. In more northern regions, harvest in late September or early October.
