Leek Autumn Giant (leek), headless leek, “pearl” – a biennial herbaceous plant of the Allium family. A new, high-yielding, all-season variety for growing for its leaves. The growing season from sowing to harvest is 58–62 days. The leaf is fleshy, dark green, and of medium length. The variety has a high proportion of white leaf, does not form a bulb. It regrows quickly after cutting, allowing for multiple harvests in a single season. Retains marketable appearance for a long time. Possesses excellent disease resistance
One of the key factors in successfully growing giant leeks is choosing the right variety. For example, the Autumn Giant leek variety is ideal for this purpose. The stem of this variety reaches a height of 60–70 cm. Most importantly, the white shaft reaches a thickness of 5 cm and a height of 15–20 cm. In early March, soak the leek seeds in warm nettle infusion (50–60°C) overnight, then dry them.  Place expanded clay in a wooden or plastic box for drainage, then add a mixture of soil, peat, and sand. Make furrows, water them, sow the leek seeds, and cover with soil. In a few days, uniform seedlings will emerge. At first, keep the box with the seedlings on the windowsill; then (to prevent the seedlings from getting leggy and overgrowing) move them to a heated balcony. From time to time, gently loosen the soil between the rows. Water the seedlings twice a week. If necessary, add more soil to make the stems more stable. Once the threat of late spring frosts has passed, plant the leeks in a staggered pattern in the same bed as celery (these two crops have a beneficial effect on each other). Plant the seedlings deeply. Add ash and compost to the planting holes beforehand. Water gently after planting. Over the summer, leeks need to be hilled up several times (at least three) to increase the height of the white part. Fertilize once with a mullein solution (1:10), and a second time with a fermented infusion of nettles and other weeds (1:10).
