Karatalsky Onion — an early-maturing, small-bulb variety with a semi-sharp flavor. It produces a bountiful harvest regardless of climatic and soil conditions. One of the best varieties for winter storage. The bulbs are large, round, with yellow scales, weighing up to 200 g; when grown for one year, they weigh 90–130 g.

Onions are undemanding regarding soil type—the main thing is that there is good drainage and aeration. It grows best in fertile, slightly acidic, or neutral soils. It is grown by sowing seeds in open ground as soon as the soil warms up (usually in April). Seeds are sown to a depth of 1.0–1.5 cm. To obtain large bulbs, the green tops are not cut.

Harvesting is done when the leaves begin to turn yellow and wilt (usually in August). If harvesting is delayed, the onions will start growing again, and the bulbs will become unsuitable for long-term storage. After digging them up, they should be thoroughly dried.
