Ditmarscher Früher cabbage is an ultra-early variety that matures 76–112 days after transplanting. The heads mature uniformly. Heads are dense, round in shape, weighing 800–1,100 g. Yield: 3.5–4 kg/m². Has excellent market appearance. Used fresh. Valued for its stable and uniform yield.
Cultivation: Sow for seedlings from mid-March at 2–3 day intervals (to extend the harvest period) until the end of March. 8–10 days after germination, transplant the seedlings into 6 x 6 cm pots.
Transplant to the permanent site when the seedlings have 4–5 true leaves, from late April to mid-May, according to the following pattern: 40–45 cm between rows, 20–25 cm between plants in a row. The best preceding crops are legumes and grains, cucumbers, onions, and root vegetables. The best soils are loamy with a high humus content and a neutral or slightly acidic pH. Harvesting takes place in July–August. They are consumed fresh.
