Sugar Prince Peas

A high-yielding variety for canning. It has excellent flavor (pods and seeds) and, in the early stage of pod development, is eaten along with the pods. The variety matures in 65–75 days; the plants grow tall without pinching (140–150 cm), so they require supports. The seeds are round, green, and have a pleasant sweet taste
The cultivation of the mid-season "Sugar Prince" pea variety does not stand out from other mid-season varieties. You can start by soaking the seeds before sowing. Seeds are planted using the row or strip method. To achieve a high yield, farmers pinch off the plant’s top, which stimulates vigorous growth of side shoots and slows the peas’ ripening. New side shoots can also be pinched, resulting in even more extensive branching; consequently, the yield from such a bush will be significantly higher than from a standard plant.
Given that pod ripening slows down, watering is essential with this growing method, as high summer temperatures can occur as early as late May.
