A new Italian-type Briska F1 eggplant hybrid for versatile culinary use
Briska F1 — a mid-season, new Italian-type eggplant hybrid from United Genetics (Italy). The hybrid is intended for cultivation in open ground. It produces round fruits weighing 350–400 g with a deep purple color. The flesh is white and firm, and the seeds develop slowly. The fruits have versatile culinary properties: they are ideal for baking whole, making sautéed dishes, and canning.
Cultivation Characteristics
It is recommended to grow the Briska F1 eggplant using the seedling method, followed by transplanting the plants to the garden bed. Seeds can be sown as early as late February, using individual containers with sufficient growing space. Since eggplants do not tolerate transplanting well, at the 2-true-leaf stage, eggplant seedlings can be transplanted by transferring them to larger containers. After transplanting the seedlings to their permanent growing location, eggplant care should include such agricultural practices as loosening the soil, removing weeds, fertilizing, regular watering with a moderate amount of lukewarm water, as well as a set of measures to protect plants from diseases and pests.
