Declare war on the caterpillars on your property!
Gerold is a product with a unique mode of action, created specifically to combat and protect against caterpillars.
Fruit orchards are sprayed with Herald against fruit moths and leaf rollers in the spring, during bud differentiation and immediately after flowering. Vegetable and ornamental flower crops are treated upon detection of pests throughout the season.
When it comes into contact with caterpillars, Gerold blocks their feeding and halts their development, preventing them from transforming into adult insects. Additionally, Gerold has a lethal effect on pest eggs laid on treated plants. Larvae do not hatch from these eggs. These properties of the product will not only help eliminate caterpillars for the current season but also reduce their population for the coming year.
Within 3–5 days after treatment, the caterpillars become less mobile and stop feeding; they die during molting. Maximum mortality is observed 10–12 days after treatment.
Herold must be applied according to the instructions (see Application Guidelines). Like any other insecticide, the working solution is prepared by first diluting the concentrate in a small amount of water (up to 1 liter), and then adding water to the required volume. The working solution cannot be stored; that is, it must be used immediately. Spraying is carried out on the leaves and stems in calm weather, preferably in the morning (before 10:00 a.m.) and evening (after 6:00 p.m.) hours—to avoid sunburn on the plants. After treatment, a certain amount of time must usually elapse before harvest—in the application guidelines, this period is called the “waiting period” and is specified in days.
