"Challenge" 15 ml herbicide from Bayer is a highly effective product for controlling annual dicotyledonous weeds in sunflower and certain vegetable crops. The main active ingredient is aclonifen (600 g/L), which belongs to the diphenyl ether group of herbicides. The product affects chlorophyll synthesis in weeds, leading to their death.
Usage and recommendations:
- Sunflower: soil spraying after sowing before emergence or at the 2–4 true leaf stage of the crop. Application rate: 3–6 L/ha.
- Carrots: soil spraying before crop emergence. Application rate: 4 L/ha.
- Onions: two applications in the 2–4 leaf stage at 12–14-day intervals. Application rate: 0.5 L/ha.
The product is effective at soil temperatures ranging from +15°C to +25°C and can be stored at temperatures ranging from 0 to +40°C for up to 24 months.
For best results, application is recommended under conditions favorable for weed germination (moist topsoil, optimal temperature). "Challenge" also works well in tank mixes with other herbicides based on acetochlor and propyzachlor.
