The insecticide “Averfos” is an emulsion concentrate containing the active ingredient (AI) chlorpyrifos, an organophosphate compound, at a concentration of 48%. Shelf life: 3 years.

“Averfos” contains a number of unique components that ensure complete extraction of the active ingredient from the formulation, which distinguishes it favorably from similar chlorpyrifos-based products.

Safety

“Averfos” is classified as Class III (moderately hazardous) based on its effect on warm-blooded animals when administered orally, and as Class IV (low hazard) when applied to the skin. The hazard level based on volatility is significant—Class II hazard according to the Criteria for the Selection of Insecticidal Preparations. The product does not have a sensitizing effect; local irritation upon contact with the skin is mild. Upon contact with the mucous membranes of the eyes, it causes significant irritation and miosis. The working aqueous emulsion (0.48% active ingredient) is classified as Class II (highly hazardous) in the acute biocidal effect zone when inhaled in the form of aerosols. Vapors of the aqueous emulsion, based on the subacute biocidal effect, are classified as Class III (moderately hazardous) according to the Classification of the Hazard Level of Disinfectants. The aqueous emulsion does not have a dermal-resorptive effect upon repeated skin contact; the local irritant effect is mild.
