Full description
Agita 10 VG (100 g) - an insecticide containing 10% thiamethoxam and 0.05% Z-9-tricosene (a fly sex pheromone) as active ingredients, as well as lactose and sugar. It is a water-soluble, fine-grained, beige-colored, odorless powder. When dissolved in water, it forms a milky-beige suspension. Packaging: 100 g in a 240-ml plastic jar.
Pharmacological properties:
Thiamethoxam, a component of the preparation, belongs to the neonicotinoid group. Thiamethoxam has contact and stomach insecticidal activity against flies, fleas, and cockroaches. Thiamethoxam blocks the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors on the postsynaptic membranes of nerve cells, leading to the death of insects. The product is active against insects resistant to organophosphate insecticides, pyrethroids, and carbamates. Tricosene, a fly sex pheromone, attracts insects to the application sites. Agita 10 WG begins to take effect 3–5 minutes after insects come into contact with the product. In terms of its effect on warm-blooded animals, Agita 10 WG is classified as a low-hazard substance; at recommended concentrations, it does not cause local irritation or sensitization. The product is toxic to fish and bees.
Indications:
For the control of flies in various types of facilities. The product can also be used to control cockroaches and fleas.
Dosage and Application:
The Agita 10 WG insecticide is applied as a solution by smearing or spraying onto surfaces. The granules are dissolved in slightly warm water according to the schedule below and the description of each method separately. The solution must be used immediately after preparation or within one day. The solution must be stirred very thoroughly before use. If the application process is interrupted for more than 30 minutes, the Agita 10 WG solution must be stirred again. Apply the prepared working solution to areas preferred by insects (warm, sunny walls of the room, window frames, window sills, doors, supports, parts of fences, pipes, milk lines, and other surfaces). Animals should be removed from the room during treatment.
Applying streaks to the surface. To prepare the working solution, dissolve 100 g of Agita 10 WG granules in 80 ml of water in a separate container and stir thoroughly to obtain a homogeneous suspension. The prepared working solution is sufficient to treat rooms with a floor area of 40 m². Apply the solution to the surface with a brush in 10x30 cm strips. Apply at least 8 strips to treat rooms with a floor area of 40 m². When using the Agita 10 WG insecticide, packaged in 400-g cans, mix the product with water at a ratio of 400 g of Agita 10 WG to 320 ml of water and stir thoroughly. The prepared working solution is sufficient for treating rooms with a floor area of 160 m². Apply the solution with a brush to the surface in 10x30 cm strips. Apply at least 30 strips to treat rooms with a floor area of 160 m². If there are no suitable surfaces for applying the solution, or if there are wooden, plastered, or whitewashed surfaces, or if it is undesirable to apply the product directly to walls and interior objects, apply the solution to strips of cardboard or polyethylene tape and attach them to the walls or hang them from the ceiling. The duration of the insecticidal effect of Agita 10 WG when the product is applied in streaks to the surface is 6–8 weeks. Surface spraying. To prepare the working solution, dissolve 100 g of Agita 10 WG granules in 800 ml of water in the sprayer tank and stir thoroughly to obtain a homogeneous suspension. The prepared working solution is sufficient to treat rooms with a floor area of 20 m². When using the Agita 10 WG insecticide, packaged in 400-g cans, mix the product with water at a ratio of 400 g of Agita 10 WG to 3.2 L of water and stir thoroughly. The prepared working solution is sufficient to treat rooms with a floor area of 80 m². Approximately 30% of the wall and ceiling surfaces should be directly sprayed. In pig barns, spray the wall surfaces at a height of more than 1.5 m above the floor, and on cattle farms—at a height of more than 2 m above the floor. The room can be used again after the sprayed surfaces have dried. The insecticidal effect of Agita 10 WG lasts 4–6 weeks when the product is sprayed onto surfaces. Repeat treatments are performed based on entomological indications: when flies accumulate or continuously enter the room.
Side effects:
When used correctly and at the recommended dosage, side effects are generally not observed.
Contraindications:
Do not treat surfaces that will come into contact with food or feed, feeders, or waterers, or surfaces that animals may come into contact with. Do not apply the product to dirty, highly porous, or freshly whitewashed surfaces. Do not pour product residues down the sink or into the sewer.
