West — a mid-season pumpkin variety for cooking

The West pumpkin is a mid-season variety with high yields. The fruits weigh an average of 15 kg (they can be larger or smaller), are round, and dense. The pumpkin has a high dry matter content. Inside, the flesh is orange and juicy. The fruits contain a seed chamber inside and do not crack during transport. West is resistant to many fungal diseases and easily tolerates temperature fluctuations and other adverse weather conditions. West is grown for culinary use and processing.

How to Grow

Sow pumpkin seeds in open ground when the soil warms up to 10 °CC, as the seeds may rot at lower temperatures. The distance between planting holes should be about 60 cm. Organic matter can be added to the holes when planting. Water the plants with warm water during flowering and fruit set. When the fruits ripen, watering is reduced. It is not recommended to use cold water for watering. It is recommended to apply fertilizer when the plant has formed 3–5 leaves, and then at the beginning of vine formation. Overall, the plant is not demanding; with proper care, you can harvest large, marketable fruits for preparing delicious pumpkin dishes.
