Piero spring onion — a mid-season variety of vitamin-rich onion for salads, with a growing season of 105–110 days. The plant is perennial and grown for its greens. The leaves are tender, juicy, and remain tender for a long time; the flavor is semi-sharp. Yield: 1.2–2.6 kg/m². Grows well in the shade and is drought-tolerant. Leaves regrow in early spring after the snow melts. A source of early-season vitamins. The fresh greens are used for consumption.
