Alfalfa “Nadezhda” belongs to the blue-hybrid group. The variety is a national standard of Ukraine. It has been listed in the Ukrainian variety registry since 1982. Suitable for all climatic zones. Growing season: 118–125 days. The plant is erect, tall, 52–97 cm high, with a foliage density of 37–46%. Leaves are medium-sized, slightly drooping. The flowers are light purple. The pods are brown, medium-sized, with 2–3.5 coils. The seeds are yellow, medium-sized, and kidney-shaped. The yield of green mass is about 700 cwt/ha, and the seed yield is 7.0–9.0 cwt/ha. It regrows quickly after mowing. This alfalfa is high-yielding for seed and drought-tolerant. A biological feature of the variety is a high green matter yield in the first cut.
