The pods are thin, 25–30 cm long, 1 cm in diameter, green in color, and stringless; they taste better and sweeter than green beans. The beans are yellow-beige in color. Pods are harvested unripe, as they are juiciest at this stage. Sow seeds after the threat of night frosts has passed. Used in home cooking when boiled, fried, or canned.
