Polish Mushroom mycelium, 10 g

Full description
Polish mushroom (Boletus badius)
The Polish mushroom is a mushroom of the Boletus genus. In some classifications, it—like the entire Boletus genus—is included in the Boletus genus. Russian names for the mushroom also include brown mushroom, noble mushroom, and chestnut boletus.
The cap diameter ranges from 4 to 12 cm (up to 15 cm); the cap is semicircular and convex, later becoming cushion-shaped and even flat. The color is chestnut brown, dark brown, or chocolate brown.
The flesh is fleshy, dense, whitish or yellowish; in the cap, the flesh turns slightly blue when cut, then becomes light again, while in the stem it turns blue and then brown. The smell is pleasant and mushroom-like.
Stem 4–12 cm tall and 1–4 cm thick, cylindrical, fibrous, light brown, brown, or yellow with reddish-brown fibers, lighter at the top and bottom.

Edible; many mushroom pickers consider it to be of very good quality. It is used in many mushroom dishes and is also suitable for drying and pickling.

Growing the Polish mushroom in a home garden: In a shaded area covering 2.5–3 m², dig a 30 cm deep pit and fill it with a nutrient mixture.
- First layer: (spread on the bottom) fallen leaves, grass, or tree bark (10 cm).
- Second layer: forest humus or soil from under trees (10 cm). Then, spread dry mycelium evenly over the entire area, having previously mixed it with 1 liter of dry soil.
- Third layer: plant debris as in the first layer, but 3 cm thick.
- Fourth layer: garden soil (3–5 cm). After sowing, water using a drip method.
The first mushrooms will appear in 1.5–2 months, then every 1–1.5 weeks.

Indoors, they are grown in the same way, but planted in boxes. The mycelium can live up to 5 years. They can be grown at any time of year. Annually, during the hot or cold seasons (when mushrooms do not grow), evenly spread humus over the planting site at a rate of 15 kg/m².

Attention! Soil acidity is a very important factor for successful mushroom cultivation. For the Polish mushroom, the optimal pH is 6.5–7. More acidic soil (lower pH) must be neutralized by watering with a solution of quicklime (100 g of lime per 5 L of water per 1 m²).
Amateur mushroom cultivation does not guarantee results, as the mushroom harvest depends heavily on weather and many other factors. Nevertheless, with practice, sufficient experience, and a fair amount of diligence, you can expect decent results.

The mycelium has a shelf life of 5–7 years. Store in a dry place. The date of manufacture is indicated on the packaging.
